GeoVision kits - simple to install

Step 1 - Unpacking your kit.

In this example we show the entry-level single camera GeoVision kit which is ideal for home or a small business which requires between 1 and 4 cameras.

A typical kit includes a GeoVision PCI capture card, additional backplane adapters (if purchased), digital cameras, mounting brackets, cables, power supply units and the GeoVision software CD.

Installing your Geovision card in a PC

Step 2 - Installing the GeoVision card.

To install the GeoVision card, turn off your PC at the mains socket and remove the outer casing. Find a free PCI slot and insert the GeoVision card.

There is a connector cable to plugin to the reset switch on the motherboard. This is used by the WatchDog facility in the GeoVision software to automatically reboot your PC if it crashes or hangs due to any hardware fault.

Wireless video transmitter and receiver kits start at just £135

Step 3 - Connecting the cameras.

GeoVision kits are supplied with either cables or wireless transmitter/receiver modules. If you are intending to site your cameras within 5m to 40m from you PC, and the cable run is relatively straighforward around a room or on the outside of a house, the cable option is probably best.

If you want to avoid having unsightly cables everywhere you can purchase wireless transmitter/receiver kits to connect your cameras to the PC.

Installing your CCTV camera mounting bracket

Step 4 - Mounting the cameras.

All of our cameras are supplied with mounting brackets. You just fix the bracket with the screws and rawlplug supplied to a suitable location on a wall or ceiling. If you are mounting the camera externally make sure you protect any cable joins from the weather by covering them with a waterproof case or joining the cables inside the building.

Our bullet cameras are waterproof so they can be installed inside or outside without special housings.

Step 5 - Where to install cameras.

We offer a range of different digital cameras for different requirements. The bullet camera illustrated opposite can used internally or externally and is completely weatherproof. Different lenses are available for these cameras, depending on the field of view you require.

The Geovision software controls the cameras and all monitoring and recording functions.

Step 6 - Installing the software.

Insert the GeoVision CD into your CD drive and choose the main installation program. Follow the prompts to configure your cameras and setup the recording and monitoring options.
